Mazda 323 GTX Suspension Overhaul


Immediate plans, to replace shocks, struts, and hardware that requires removal of shocks and struts. Longer term to replace all bushings through entire suspension and possibly rear trailing arms and lateral arms.

  • Nov 2005: Tokico front struts (HB2083/84)
  • Dec 2005: KYB rear struts (used. Thanks Doug!)
  • Jan 2006: KYB Strut Mounts, Front (SM5039) & Rear (SM5045)
  • Stainless brake lines: Corksport - $99
  • tie rod ends: Moog #MOES2827RL - 30.77 ea = $61, or use mazda ones
  • ball joints: Moog $27 each = $54, or use mazda ones

  • endlink bushing kit: Pedders - $10. not needed if using Energy Suspension endlinks
  • sway bar bushings front: Spring Works greaseable bushings - $?. Part Numbers are Energy Suspension numbers. bar size 29.2mm, 1.15" hollow bar
  • sway bar bushings rear: Spring Works greaseable bushings - $ ? Part Numbers are Energy Suspension numbers. bar size 18mm
  • lateral link bushings: Energy Suspension: #ENE2048G is a direct replacement for the bushings in the lateral links qty 8?)
  • strut tower bar: Cusco - $150
  • lateral arms: Mazdaspeed - $482, or from mazdamotorsports for $360 usd total. Or refinishing through Doug.
 Cosmetic Enhancements
  • Paint calipers and hub centres flat black
