Modifications (reverse order)

Brakes, Again

Timeframe: Feb 1, 2009

Replaced rear rotors, front and rear pads, rear wheel bearings, all fuel lines from tank to engine with vynal lines, all brake lines from master cylinder to each flex line with new hydraulic lines, and repaired front frame on both sides. Rear calipers rebuilt and powdercoated by Midwest Calipers in Mississauga, Ontario. All work done by Midas in Welland, Ontario. Rear Rotors: Stoptech Sportstop slotted rotors from Corksport (PN: 126.45031SR/L), Front Pads: KVR Sport CF (PN: M7219), Rear Pads: KVR Sport CF (PN: M7257), Rear wheel bearings - inner and outer.

Brakes

Timeframe: Jan 15, 2007

Replaced front and rear rotors, front and rear pads, and all flex lines. Front rotors: Brembo Blanks (PN: 094 1331), Rear Rotors: Eurorotor (PN: MA-843), Front Pads: PBR MetalMaster (PN: D685M), Rear Pads: PBR MetalMaster (PN: D700M), Stainless Steel flex lines: Corksport (PN: MA-500), Rear wheel bearings - inner and outer: Federal Mogul (PN: A18). Pedal feel is far improved over original stock setup.

Reich Racing 105 Amp Alternator

Timeframe: Mid-December, 2006

Old alternator died. Replacement used alternator died 4 days after being installed. Learning: Do it right the first time. This alternator definitely is doing it right.

Rust Fix, part 1

Timeframe: Late April, 2006

Leaks fixed in hatch, and into the driver's footwell. Hatch shaved, lower spoiler removed, upper spoiler installed. New metal welded into spots where rust perforations were, and where lock tumbler was. Primed, and repainted. Leak into driver's footwell fixed - was leaking around antenna body and down rain gutter. 16" Wheels & Performance All Seasons

Timeframe: Late March, 2006

American Racing 5-star 4x114 rims (used). Not light, but they're tough. Ended up with Cooper Zeon ZPT tires Cooper Zeon ZPT 205/40/16

Springs and Struts

Timeframe: Late March, 2006

Suspension Techniques Springs, Tokico front struts, KYB Rear struts, KYB Strut Mounts, and other hardware.

Electronic Boost Controller

March 20, 2006 - depended on ECU installation

Old version of Blitz dual solenoid EBC. price $50. Simple device, with high and low boost levels. Settings are 10 and 14 psi. Little risk of overboost due to upgraded ECU and flow characteristics of the turbo. Control box stashed in center console behind screen. Interface attached to top of glove box. Solenoid bolted underneath intake filter.

ECU Upgrade

Timeframe: March 16, 2006

Reich Racing ECU, Allows boost to 15+ psi., + 30whp at 15 psi, with supporting mods. Rev limiter raised by 500 rpm. Literally 10 minute installation time.

Clifford Alarm

Timeframe: March 2006

Clifford RSX-3.5 Alarm, Turbo Timer, and remote start installed by Krown Lakeshore. Magnetic hood switch, additional piezzo siren installed in passenger area, door lock actuators for both side doors and trunk release.

Stewart Warner Boost Gauge

March 2006

Installed Stewart Warner Boost guage (-30Hg - 15 psi) and Stewart Warner pod. Routed vac line through upper portion of firewall. For now, velcro used to attach pod to dash, likely will change pod design so didn't want to drill holes. Have to cut housing around clock in order to allow vac line to come through.

Optima Blue Top

Dec 2005

Installed Optima blue top (marine battery - withstands vibration) to replace old worn out Canadian Tire battery. Replaced positive terminal with gold plated so it's easy to add amps

Screen and DVD Player

Nov 2005

Installed Inovatek screen and Farenheit DVD player. Player later upgraded to Exonic brand (Ample Audio).

Glass Sunroof Swap

Swapped a glass roof from a first gen protege. Fit is perfect. Look's way better, and nice to be rid of the rusting roof.

Reich Racing Intake

supposedly good for +14HP. comes with Cone filter, and aluminum adaptor to go from round (filter) to square (MAF) hose/pipe. Arrived in the mail Oct 11th 2005. Definitely added power at higher rpms.

Fog and Driving Lights

All lights wired so that parking lights must be on for them to light. Fogs wired so they can be either on or off. Driving lights wired so they can be on with only the parking lights, or come on automatically when high beams are turned on.

2.5" hydraulic bent exhaust

Sep 2005

system includes short piece near the front so exhaust can be removed and custom downpipe can be built later. 1x high flow cat, 2x in-pipe resonators, and 1x straight through muffler. All Stainless Steel with SS welds.
